Neptune's Only Daughter

KINDA POST ROCK FROM BOULDER!

It is no secret Boulder doesn't have a lot going for it in terms of a music scene that isn't jam, bluegrass, or EDM. I look elsewhere but this band made an impression and we were pleased. The songs are their own and they take themselves seriously...which isn't always a bad thing.

Ladder 2012

The Local Shakedown was in good hands with Hannah filling in as I journeyed to Fiona Apple it up. Chimney Choir's performance highlights their soundscape influenced folk with rich accompaniment and harmonizing vocals.

DIVERSE SETS, STREAM 'EM NOW

Topics from the interview include a live performance recording in a pipe organ chapel studio, field recordings, undercover vans, feelers for a bass player, and a west coast tour.

Glowing House

Glowing House makes folk music for everyone. Listen and try not to get excited during "Taming Lions". The LP was recorded in a church with additional players from Devotchka, Air Dubai, and Gregory Alan Isakov! It's good, it's local, LISTEN NOW to the live on-air performance and interview and learn what "Taming Lions" is all about.

but wait, there's more....

Jeff Cormack of Boulder's South of France stopped by to talk about his band's upcoming LP and tour. Find out why Jeff has blues in his pop, thoughts on being a producer vs musician, and how your band can get buzz without playing a single local show.

IT'S KINDA LIKE READING A MUSIC BLOG...BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO READ!

The kind of singing that fills my arms with goosebumps and made my eyes all watery...this is good stuff.
The last song performed, "Heartbreaker" earned the duo a spot in the coveted Aspen Songwriters Festival happening this March.
Catch Ramaya and Dana tonight at Shine and at the Fox with other local favorites March 3rd!
